Newcastle United are currently in fourth place in the Premier League table and with just two matches left, the Magpies are in serious contention to qualify for the Champions League next season.
With European football via either Champions League or Europa League a guarantee next season, Newcastle have revealed the design of their new away and goalkeeper kits, which goes on sale from Thursday May 10th.
At first glance, the colour of the Puma shirt is similar to that which appeared on the Adidas 2006/07 season away kit. That was Newcastle’s last season when they played in Europe. And that in turn was a remix of the previous 1195/96 Adidas effort that included maroon and blue hoops. This is the first kit to properly feature Virgin Money as the sponsor, with the current shirt just having it stuck over the top of the previous sponsors Northern Rock. This will replace the current orange Newcastle away shirt, which has had mixed opinions amongst fans.
The current kit uses a brand new Puma jersey design, while the goalkeeper shirt shares the same designed used by Italy for the upcoming Euro 2012.
