Premier League ‘Bosman XI’ – Team Of Stars Out Of Contract In The Next Summer

Lampard-Bosman-XI

As we get close to the new year and the January transfer window, we make a team with the Premier League players who will be out of contract at the end of the season and could leave for free.

From the start of the new year, all these players can start negotiating with other clubs for a better contract and can join them for nothing in the summer. This year the likes of Michael Owen, Emile Heskey and Paul Scharner found new clubs, while Owen Hargreaves, Craig Gordon and Harry Kewell are left waiting for a phone call.

So come next summer which players could be moving on for free from the Premier League? Here is our Premier League ‘Bosman XI’..

Premier League Bosman XI

Subs:- Brad Friedel (Tottenham), Kolo Toure (Man City), William Gallas (Tottenham), Maynor Figueroa (Wigan), Florent Malouda (Chelsea), Mladen Petric (Fulham), Franco di Santo (Wiagn).

Note:- The likes of Paul Scholes, Ryan Giggs and Jamie Carragher are also in their final year of their respective deals but have been excluded from the team because it is too hard to see them playing for anybody else.

Kits

Key Man – Jordi Gomez
With Victor Moses expected to leave before the transfer window closes at the end of August, the Spanish playmaker is likely to be the Latics’ most creative influence in the midfield. Scored a number of important goals last season and boasts good vision, Jordi Gomez will have a huge role to play in helping Wigan survive the drop.

Opening Fixtures
19-Aug – Chelsea (H)
25-Aug – Southampton (A)
01-Sep – Stoke (H)
15-Sep – Man Utd (A)
23-Sep – Fulham (H)
29-Sep – Sunderland (A)

Probable Formation (4-5-1): Al Habsi; Boyce, Ramis, Caldwell, Figueroa; Moses, Gomez, Watson, McCarthy, Maloney; Kone.

Verdict: Roberto Martinez again left it late to produce the ‘Great Escape’, and it’s very difficult to say this season will be any different. Signing Ivan Ramis and Arouna Kone from La Liga side Mallorca and Levante, respectively, are very good ones, but if they fail to keep Victor Moses from joining Chelsea, they won’t be any better off. The Latics seem to survive every year, but I think this season will be a very tough one for the club and could be their last in the top flight.

Prediction: 19th.
