New Everton Home Kit For 2012/13 Season Launched

Everton have launched their new home kit campaign for the 2012/13 season. The stylish Royal Blue jersey is the Club’s first home kit to feature the famous Nike swoosh, after the global sportswear giant became Everton’s technical partner for next term.

The classic shirt features broad white cuffs and a white v-neck trim, and is made from Nike Dri-Fit fabric which is lightweight and manages perspiration, keeping players dry and comfortable for 90 minutes and beyond.  The shirt is also part of Nike’s Considered Design programme aimed at reducing environmental impact, and consists of 100 per cent recycled material.

Supporters can see the Royal Blue home strip in action for the first time this Saturday for the Blues pre-season friendly against Morecambe. The striking 2012/13 black away strip with yellow detail was launched last month as the first offering from Nike and has already proved popular with supporters.

Everton’s player of the year John Heitinga admits he can’t wait to play in the Club’s new Nike home kit. The Dutch defender got a sneak preview at a recent photoshoot, and he told evertontv:

“I am really familiar with Nike kits having played in them for Holland and my previous clubs – they are always slim fit and really nice jerseys. The blue kit is my favourite, it is beautiful kit. I have seen all three and they are all beautiful but the blue shirt is our home colours – the one we play in most often – and I always like to wear our own colours. I think the Everton fans will be really happy with it.”

The kit exists as Nike’s interpretation of Everton tradition, and Tony Hibbert is a fan of its simplicity. He said:

“They are really nice kits. The home is obviously in the blue and white and is plain but traditional. I like it.”

Skipper Phil Neville added:

“It makes you feel good when you look down and see that swoosh on your chest. Players are vain and when you look good and feel good then you play better. This kit looks fantastic and I can’t wait to play in it next season.”

The home kit will be officially launched on Thursday, 19 July with an event at Everton One, adjacent to Goodison Park, where Blues legend Peter Reid will be in store to meet fans as they get their hands on the shirt for the first time.

Arsenal Reveal New Away Kit For Season 2012/13

Arsenal have revealed their new away kit for the 2012/13 Premier League season made by Nike, available to pre-order from Thursday, July 12, with the help of chart-topping pop duo, Rizzle Kicks.

The Gunners-supporting pair don the new strip, which combines a rich purple base with black hoops, in a viral that features the duo performing a track from their album Stereo Typical, ‘Demolition Man’.

The purple design gives the kit a regal flavour in this Diamond Jubilee year for a side that was known as ‘Royal Arsenal’ in the 1890s, having been formed at the Arsenal munitions factory in Woolwich, South London. The red trim on the shirt cuffs compliments the purple body, while the differing hoop patterns on the shirt provide a modern twist. The inner back neck graphic, meanwhile, takes the form of the Club’s motto, ‘Victoria Concordia Crescit’, the Latin for ‘Victory Through Harmony’, while the outer back neck graphic pays tribute to legendary manager Herbert Chapman’s innovative WM formation. The purple and black hooped socks, bearing one red stripe each, pay tribute to Chapman’s legacy and his introduction of hooped socks to make it easier for players to pick each other out on the pitch.

Speaking about the new kit, midfielder Alex Song said:

“I think the new design is really nice – I’m a guy who likes fashion and when I saw these colours, I was very happy. This kit is different to last season’s and I’m really excited to wear it. I might do something with my hair to match!”

As well as the striking new look, the kit will also be the most technologically advanced and environmentally friendly to date, thanks to Nike’s innovations. Each kit (shirt and shorts) is made using up to 13 recycled plastic water bottles, and out of fabric that is up to 23 per cent lighter than previous designs.

The kit is available to pre-order now at www.arsenaldirect.com and will be available in stores from Thursday, August 9, priced at £45 for adults and £35 for juniors. You can have a look at more pictures of the new kit here.

Manchester City Launch New Home And Away Kits

Premier League champions Manchester City have revealed their new home and away kits for the new 2012/13 Premier League season. The new kits are tailored by Umbro and were revealed today by club captain Vincent Kompany and rock legend Joel Gallagher.

The Burnage-born rock legend is pictured with captain Vincent Kompany wearing the new Manchester City home and away shirts which the team will wear during the 2012/13 season.

Earlier this season, Manchester-based sportswear company Umbro and City invited fans to come up with ideas to launch the Blues’ new kits.
Over the coming weeks, a series of ‘Show Your City’ fan launches will be released; starting with shots captured by music photographer and City fan Kevin Cummins. Cummins – famous for his images of iconic Manchester bands such as Joy Division, The Smiths and The Stone Roses – captured the shots of Gallagher and Kompany in Belgium. Kompany surprised gig goers at the Rock Werchter music festival in his native Belgium by introducing Gallagher prior to his performance. The 80,000 strong crowd cheered as the Belgian centreback embraced the musician on the main stage before his set.
Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany said:

“I always look forward to returning to Belgium but this really was a special occasion and a moment to savour. Noel is obviously a huge star so I was happy to introduce him in front of 80,000 fans in my home country.”

Noel Gallagher said:

“The new home kit is pure class. It might be the best one we’ve had in a decade. As modern and radical as it is though, it’s nice to see Umbro keeping our heritage alive in the new away kit. The best dressed defending champions of all time? No doubt.”

The Home shirt retains City’s iconic sky blue colour and also incorporates black detailing and trim which takes influence from the 1969 FA Cup and 1970 League Cup winning kits.  The new Away shirt sees a return to the classic maroon colour worn by the FA Cup winning teams of 1934 and 1956, also tailored by Umbro.

Both kits are available to pre-order from 6 July at The City Store. The away kit is available on general sale from 14 July and the home kit on 26 July.

Liverpool Reveal New Third Kit For 2012/13 Season

Liverpool have today revealed their new third kit for the upcoming 2012/13 season. The brand new third kit which is manufactured by new sponsors Warrior Sports will be mostly worn in Europe next season.

With a striking graphic print set over a daring colour palette of Nightshade, Orange and White, the new kit will be worn by Liverpool FC during their upcoming UEFA Europa League campaign and selected Barclays Premier League games. Inspiration behind the kit’s dominant nightshade colour stems from popular past goalkeeper kits worn by David James during the 1994/95 and 1995/96 seasons, and Pepe Reina in 2010/11.

Unique to Warrior’s 3rd design, the kit has been constructed with body mapped mesh to help players stay cool under pressure. Powered by War-Tech, Warrior’s revolutionary apparel system, the kit will keep external elements out while letting sweat and moisture escape to help players stay dry and comfortable.

The main body of the 3rd shirt is underpinned with durable water resistant technology, adding a layer of protection by rejecting external moisture while staying dry. In addition, four-way stretch mesh fabric under the arms enables a full-range of movement and increased air flow to help regulate temperature in key heat areas during games.

Pre-order online now for guaranteed worldwide delivery on launch day – August 2, 2012. Click here to pre-order the away kit from the online store.

West Ham Unveil New Macron Home Kit

West Ham United have unveiled their new home kit for 2012/13 Barclays Premier League season, which is manufactured by Italian sports company Macron.

The new home strip showcases the traditional claret body with sky blue sleeves redesigned with a vintage style. The shirt features a stylish claret knitwear ‘corean’ neck collar with a sky blue insert, embellished by a stitched yellow cross recalling the symbolic Hammers logo.

A second embossed Hammers logo on the back of the shirt means nobody will be in any doubt who you support, while sky blue inserts on the flank define the profile of the shirt and shape its form. The sleeves combine the sky blue colour with a claret piping profile.

The shorts are the traditional white, complete with a stitched West Ham logo, while the socks are predominantly claret but highlighted by two sets of sky blue and white hoops.

Fans can choose to personalise their shirts at purchase with names and numbers and also once again add on the Premier League badges to show with pride the fact the Hammers are back in the most exciting league in the world.

Captain Kevin Nolan and Hammer of the Year Mark Noble joined Carlton Cole, James Tomkins and Matt Taylor as they become the first players to try on the new kit at a special photoshoot at the club’s Chadwell Heath training ground. All five enjoyed pulling on the new claret and blue shirt for the first time and are looking forward to running out in the kit when West Ham host Aston Villa in their opening Barclays Premier League fixture on Saturday 18 August.

Tomkins said:

“I think the shirt is smart. I always feel proud to wear our shirt and it is great when you look at our supporters and hundreds of them are wearing the shirts in the crowd, it is a great thing to see. I like it, it looks good, feels nice and I am looking forward to wearing it for the new season.”

Only place fans can get your hands on the new Barclays Premier League home shirt is by buying through the Official Online Store or by visiting one of the Club Stores in person. Shirts can be pre-ordered for delivery online or in store for collection on Thursday 19 July – but hurry as with every year, fans must buy early to avoid missing out later in the season.

Aston Villa Unveil New Home And Away Kits

Aston Villa have proudly unveiled their new home and away kits for the upcoming new Premier League season which kicks off on the 18th of August. The new kits are manufactured by Italian sportswear company Macron.

The home shirt remains faithful to the classic claret and blue tradition, while the away shirt presents a vibrant lime colour with navy blue details, giving it a playful yet stylish design to symbolise a bright new era under the management of Paul Lambert.  The kits, featuring a classic Italian style using the latest design technology, contain a number of innovative details. These include a new embossed lion motif within the fabric to the rear and an embroidered club logo on the back of the neck.

The home strip, which was forged drawing inspiration from the 1980-81 championship-winning design, is made by integrating different fabrics, each with specific technical and high-performance characteristics. This allows the shirt to breathe while also providing superior resistance and maintaining comfort and elasticity.

The main fabric has been constructed with a great attention to comfort, performance and effervescence, in order to guarantee maximum comfort and best performance. The neck is a real novelty. It’s a modern polo made with rib fabric and constructed with a double collar for maximum comfort. Inside the neck the size tag is personalized with a yellow lion figure on a sky background.

The vivacious away shirt, meanwhile, features a round neck design made with a knitwear profile and in navy blue colour. The upper flank inserts are in mesh, tone on tone fibres, with the lower insert in navy blue. Inside of the neck there is the printed lion in claret that personalises the size tag.

Macron have always strived to guarantee the highest quality and technical features in their products, with great attention to style trends and details. The important fact is the same attention is applied to the fabrics and make-up of the jersey worn by the players as that purchased by the fans at authorised outlets. Paul Faulkner, Villa’s chief executive, said:

“It feels very much like the beginning of a new era for Villa as we approach the 2012-13 campaign. We have a young, hungry and ambitious manager in Paul Lambert and fantastic new kits, designed by Macron. I know that Villa fans are particularly excited as we embark upon this vibrant new journey.”

Gianluca Pavanello, Macron chief executive, said:

“We know the huge passion of the Villa fans and the great importance to them of the club heritage. That is why we drew inspiration from the 1980-81 kit design when coming up with the home strip for 2012-13. This highly-valued and reinterpreted design comes together with all the features and benefits allowed by the technicalities of modern fabrics and design. We are sure that the shirts will be a celebration not only of the past but especially of the present and the future of this outstanding and unique team.”
